Abstract:
To provide a cylinder device which is excellent in wear resistance, has minimal secular changes in slide characteristics, and facilitates more smooth transition from a dry to a stationary state, and a manufacturing method of a piston rod.SOLUTION: A cylinder device of the present invention has a bottomed cylindrical cylinder, seal means arranged at an opening part of the cylinder, and a piston rod which is arranged protrusively from the opening part of the cylinder, and slides with the seal means. The piston rod is applied with chromium plating, and a slide surface of the piston rod in an axial direction has characteristic evaluation parameters of a plateau structure surface which is described in JIS B 0671-2 and ISO 13565-2, wherein the protrusive trough depth Rvk is 0.06 μm or more and less than the plating thickness, the protrusive crest height Rpk is 0 μm or more and 0.04 μm or less, and the core level difference Rk is 0.08 μm or more and 0.16 μm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
