Abstract:

To provide a cylinder direct injection internal combustion engine with an injector installed with inclination to the center axis of a cylinder for actualizing stable stratified charge combustion in a wide load range.

The cylinder direct injection internal combustion engine comprises the injector installed on an injector installation axis 15 inclined to the cylinder center axis 14. The crowned face of the piston 4 has a first approximately circular cavity 16a with its center located on the cylinder center axis 14 and a second approximately circular cavity 16b arranged inside the first cavity 16a with its center located different from the center of the first cavity 16a.
