Oil channels 21a, 21b are formed on a cylinder head 3 provided with an exhaust camshaft 8 and an intake camshaft 10. A cam bracket 29 comprises a first bearing 29a having a first supply passage 30 communicating to the oil channel 21a formed on an inner circumference surface and rotatably supporting a journal of the exhaust camshaft 8, and a second bearing 29b having a second supply passage 31 and channels 26a, 26b for control guiding oil to a variable valve timing mechanism formed on an inner circumference surface and rotatably supporting a journal of the intake camshaft 10. When the variable valve timing mechanism is provided on the intake camshaft 10, the first supply passage 30 and the second supply passage 31 are shut off by a weir 32 and communication between the oil channel 21b and the channels 26a, 26b for control is maintained. When the variable valve timing mechanism is not provided, communication between the first supply passage 30 and the second supply passage 31 is maintained and the channels 26a, 26b for control are not provided at the cylinder head 3 side.
