PURPOSE: To reduce stress variation in a bead base board and also flexural stress in a grommet part, prevent breakage of the beads part and grommet part and also degradation of the sealing performance, and maintain stable sealing performance for a long time by forming a cylinder head gasket made of metal in a three-sheet construction which can be accomplished at low cost in terms of material as well as fabrication.
CONSTITUTION: A bead base board 3 made from an elastic metal plate on which beads 2 are formed along a combustion chamber hole 1, an adjusting plate 6 made from an elastic metal plate on which beads 5 are formed along a combustion chamber hole 4, and a grommet plate 8 provided with a combustion chamber small hole 7 are laid one over another, and the internal circumferential edge of the chamber hole 4 is embraced fast by the grommet plate 8 and bores in line are formed. The form of the beads 2 on the base board 3 should be such that full beads F1 are provided between chamber holes 1, 1, turned into half beads H around each chamber hole 1, and full beads F2 are provided at the whole hole 4 periphery of the beads 5 on the adjusting plate 6, and lamination is made so that the base board beads 2 are superposed on the adjusting plate beads 5 between the bores.
