To provide a powerful cylinder head gasket which requires high withstanding pressure and high sealing performance, is basically made of metal which is excellent in strength, followed by the structure where a shim member is layer-built on a bore, refined in slippage with the shim member and a cylinder head, suppressed from an unexpected deformation, and also improves sealing performance without inconvenience.

The cylinder head gasket is comprised of a gasket main body made of metallic material in which a round hole corresponding to a cylinder bore is formed, and an annular shim member which is layer-built at the periphery of the round hole. The shim member is composed of a coil spring and a structural three-dimensional fiber consisting of a strand to mutually connect coil parts in the coil spring in the extending direction of the coil.
