PURPOSE: To reduce a surface pressure applied to the whole body of a cylinder head gasket reasonably, and to give different property of sealing members to the positions liable to receive the influence of the heat, the vibration, and the like, and to the positions to receive a low level of heat, pressure, and the like.

CONSTITUTION: At the specific positions of a sheet of core steel plate 1, combustion chamber holes 2, bolt holes 3, water holes 4, and oil holes 5 are formed respectively. combustion chamber grommets 6 and bolt hole grommets 7 are installed around the combustion chamber holes 2 and the bolt holes 3 respectively. Foaming rubbers 8 are provided around the water holes 4 and the oil holes 5 respectively. The thickness of the foaming rubbers 8 is set about 2 to 4 times of the thickness of the grommets 6 and 7.
