PURPOSE: To provide a cylinder head gasket improved in sealing performance by securing uniform sealing surface pressure and applied to an engine with an auxiliary chamber.

CONSTITUTION: A grommet 3 is mounted along the peripheral edge of each cylinder bore 6 of a gasket body 1 formed of a metal core plate 5 and non-metallic sheet base material 2. A wire ring 4 is accommodated inside the grommet 3, along the peripheral edge of the cylinder bore 6, and a grommet extended part 8 with the grommet 3 extended is formed at a part corresponding to the lower face of a hot plug forming an auxiliary chamber provided at a cylinder head. Pressed step difference 9 of recessed shape is formed at a part corresponding to the grommet extended part 8. This pressed step difference 9 is formed at the grommet extended part 8 in an area excluding the wire ring 4 after mounting the grommet 3 to the gasket body 1.
