Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a rate of occurrence of soot and NOx to be nearly zero.
SOLUTION: Fuel is ejected to the inside of a combustion chamber 5 during compression stroke or intake stroke before 60 degrees that reaches before approximately a compression top dead center, and a mean particle diameter of injection fuel at this time is arranged to be a particle diameter or more that reaches the boiling point of a main fuel component, which is set by pressure at that time when the temperature of fuel particles is approximately at the compression top dead center or after the compression top dead center. A cooling device 17 is arranged inside an EGR pass 15, and EGR gas is cooled by the cooling device 17 when an engine is operated at a high load.
