Abstract:

To securely contact combustible air-fuel mixture with an ignition plug at ignition timing, irrespective of an engine speed, in a cylinder injection type spark ignition internal combustion engine that leads injecting fuel to the proximity to the ignition plug using a tumble flow during stratified charge combustion.

A fuel injection device 7 injects fuel in order to collide the fuel with the tumble flow T in the upstream side of the ignition plug 6 in a low engine speed side region during the stratified charge combustion. In a high engine speed side region during the stratified charge combustion, the fuel injection device 7 injects the fuel in order to collide the fuel with the tumble flow T in the further upstream side of the ignition plug 6 in the low engine speed side region.
