Abstract:
To provide a cylinder liner in which its joining strength with the casting material of a cylinder block and its thermal conductivity with the cylinder block are sufficiently ensured and an engine having the cylinder liner.
In this cylinder liner 2, a narrowed projection 3 is formed on the outer peripheral surface 22 thereof, and a coating 5 formed of the thermally sprayed layer of an aluminum alloy is formed on the outer peripheral surface 22 of the liner and the surface of the projection 3.
