Title:
CYLINDER LINER FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2017110804
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce abrasion caused by scuffing and friction.SOLUTION: A cylinder liner (1) for an internal combustion engine includes a hollow cylindrical body (2) having an inner face (4) kept into contact with a piston ring. The cylinder liner (1) defines substantially three principal parts, that is, a first part (Z1), a second part (Z2), and a third part (Z3), and the inner face (4) has specific roughness values to each of the parts (Z1, Z2, Z3). Lengths occupied by each of the parts (Z1, Z2, Z3) are determined to optimize a ratio of the parts (Z1, Z2, Z3) of the inner face (4) to reduce abrasion caused by scuffing on the first part (Z1) and the third part (Z3) and to reduce abrasion by friction at the second part (Z2).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
