Abstract:
To provide a technique for achieving both cooling of a cylinder bore and reduction of a bore-bore pitch while securing adhesion to a block at the time of being cast into the block to form a multiple cylinder engine.SOLUTION: A cylinder liner which is cast into the block to define the cylinder bore corresponding to one cylinder, includes: a cylindrical liner body; a protruded part provided with a plurality of protrusions on a partial outer peripheral face of the liner body; and a bore neighboring part opposed to another neighboring cylinder bore at the time of being cast into the block, and formed in a predetermined range on the outer peripheral face of the liner body, where the outer peripheral face of the upper side end of the liner body is located on the inner side of the liner body than the outer peripheral face below the upper side end and no protrusion exists on at least part of the outer peripheral face of the upper side end.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
