Abstract:
To improve a bonding strength between a cylinder liner and a cylinder block by suppressing a gap generated in a bonded part between an outer peripheral surface of a cylinder liner substrate and the cylinder block.SOLUTION: A cylinder liner 10 for cast-covering includes a substrate 12, and a plurality of protrusions formed on a basement surface 12S as an outer peripheral surface of the substrate 12, and has a resistance coefficient CD defined by the following mathematical formula (5) of 10-35%. (Sp is a cross section of a cylindrical protrusion area, S0 is a cross section of a cylindrical outer area without protrusions, S1 is a virtual flow passage area, P1 is a dynamic pressure of molten metal, ρ is a molten metal density, U is a flow rate of molten metal in the cylindrical outer area, measured in a visualizing experiment, PD is a dynamic pressure, SA is a projection area of the protrusion, SB is an obstacle area, and R1 is a resistant force.)
