To provide a cylinder lock which facilitates manufacturing of keys and can have a large number of modes of key setting.
The cylinder lock device 1 is operable by using a child key 2 which has asperity portions 4 formed in a plane area thereof in a direction in parallel with an insertion direction into a keyhole formed in a lock body. In the cylinder lock device, a key data detection section 12 functions as a capacity sensor having a probe at a location that is opposed to the asperity portions 4 when the child key 2 is inserted into and moved in the keyhole, and outputs a signal, as key data, corresponding to a change in the capacity at the asperity portions 4 when the child key 2 is inserted into and moved in the keyhole. Then a control section 14 collates the key data with a collation data set beforehand in a setting section 11, and if both the data coincide with each other, the control section 14 outputs a driving control signal to a locking/unlocking mechanism 15 in order to lock/unlock the cylinder lock.
