Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable key code change to be carried out freely by providing a plurality of tumblers in an inner cylinder, and changing a key unlocking position through change of mating position between first and second tumblers.
CONSTITUTION: In changing a key code, a proper key to a present key code is inserted and an inner cylinder 12 is turned to the change position. A first tumbler shaft 15 moves along a guide groove and moves in a long hole of a partitioning board 11 to cancel engagement between a tooth part 14b and a tooth part 16a for tumblers 14, 16. A new key code key is inserted and then the second tumbler 16 is moved backwards in the opposite direction in correspondence with the depth of cut by means of a first leaf spring 17. The inner cylinder 12 is thereafter returned to the original position and the respective tooth parts of the tumblers 14, 16 are engaged and thus a new key code is set. It is thus possible to improve a burglar proof characteristic.
