Abstract:
PURPOSE: To manufacture a cylindrical body having given internal and external shape, by combining a machined external cylinder with a precision-cast or injection- formed internal cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: Material covering the external surface of a cylinder liner 1 is transferred on the surface of cast metal. An inner cylindrical body 3 having a given shape of internal surface is manufactured through injection molding or precision casting which inserts lining metal 6 in the casting, while an external cylindrical body 4 having a given shape of external surface is manufactured through mechanical machining. Both cylindrical bodies 3, 4 are combined together through shrink or cold fitting.
