PURPOSE: To always calculate a proper injection amount and ignition timing at every cylinder when a running cylinder is changed by providing a calculation map at every cylinder corresponding to a paused cylinder pattern switched at every prescribed event when a variable cylinder pause running is carried out.
CONSTITUTION: When a cylinder pause control is applied to, for example, two cycle V type 6 cylinders engine mounted on the outboard engine for a small ship, a running state detection means such as a throttle opening sensor 15, a crank angle sensor 33, a knock sensor 34 are installed. When a cylinder pause control for pausing a prescribed cylinder under a prescribed running state is carried out, for example either one of three paused cylinder patterns set in advance is selected. When a prescribed event generation is detected during the cylinder pause control, the paused cylinder pattern is switched. In this case, a basic control amount and the correction amount at every cylinder is map calculated on the ignition timing and the fuel injection amount matching with that pattern corresponding to the discrimination result of a switched paused cylinder pattern.
