To provide a pressure transducer capable of enduring a sour gas environment.
This pressure transducer 10 for a hydrogen reciprocating compressor under the sour gas environment includes a sensor head 12 including a diaphragm 22 mounted on a free end part. The diaphragm 22 is manufactured of a nickel-based alloy with gold plating on an exposed side face thereof. This method of monitoring flow passage pressure in the reciprocating hydrogen compressor under the sour gas environment includes (a) provision of the pressure transducer 10 having the sensor head 12, and the diaphragm 22 arranged to be brought into a level the same as the free end part of the sensor head and manufactured of the nickel-based alloy, (b) application of the noble metal plating to the one side of the diaphragm, and (c) mounting of the pressure transducer in the reciprocating compressor under the condition where the plated one side face is exposed to the sour gas.
