Abstract:
PURPOSE:To increase the toughness of a recessed groove part and prevent breakage by friction-welding a cylinder part and a collar part which constitute a cylinder sleeve at the part of the recessed groove formed at the corner part on the outer periphery of the joint part. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder sleeve 42 is formed by revolving a cylindrical material A forming a collar part 45 at a high speed and pressing the edge part of a cylindrical material B onto the material A and friction-welding them, and then cutting said obtained article by a cutting tool C. Since, at the joint part 46 between the cylinder part 44 and the collar part 45, the burr 47 having the quenched structure is formed through heat convection or air-cooling of the fused part formed through the heating by frictional heat, pressing, and extrusion, said burr 47 is removed after the tempering by the high-frequency heating. The degenerated layer consisting of the structure such as the tough sorbite, troostite, etc. is obtained in the joint part through the tempering process.
