To prevent a submersible pump from being filled with a solid substance.
A cylinder 11 is rotatably supported at the internal part of a casing. The cylinder is supported by a water sealing type bearing and water is prevented from entering the casing. Liquid inlet and outlet communicating with the end openings of the cylinder are respectively formed on both sides of the casing. A blade is wound in a spiral shape around the cylinder 11 along its inner surface. The upper central part of a casing 10 is expanded to form a motor chamber 16 in which a motor 17 is situated. The motor may be motor- driven or a hydraulic motor. A small pulley 19a is fixed on a motor shaft, a transmission belt 20 is run around and between the small pulley and a large pulley 19b fixed on the cylinder 11 and rotation of the motor 17 is transmitted to the cylinder 11.
