To provide a cylindrical battery capable of surely preventing a flange part forming a part of a gasket from interfering with a separator even if downward deformation stress is generated in the flange part, and thereby capable of surely preventing occurrence of an internal short circuit.
This cylindrical battery has a positive electrode can, a positive electrode mix, the separator, a negative electrode, and an annular pressing plate, and is sealed by a sealing body comprising a negative electrode terminal plate and a sealing plate, and the resin gasket. The gasket has a packing part sealing an opening of the positive electrode can along with the sealing body, and sandwiched between the opening and the sealing body, and the flange part positioned on the undersurface side of the sealing plate; the positive electrode can has a tied part formed between the sealing body and the annular pressing plate; the flange part is bent and deformed downward by bending an end of the opening inward; and a lock member preventing the flange part from interfering with the separator by contacting the flange part is arranged on the annular pressing plate.
