PURPOSE: To reduce weight of a grindstone base and to facilitate handling of a grindstone, by a method wherein hard grinding particles are electrodeposited in a single layer at a grindstone base and a flexible beltlike metal plate, and the work is rolled around the outer circumference of the grindstone base for film adhesion to form a cylindrical grinding grindstone.
CONSTITUTION: Hard grinding particles 14, such as diamond, cubic system boron nitride, etc., are electrodeposited on an outer circumference of a flexible beltlike metal plate 12, most of each particle 14 is embedded in a electrodeposited metal layer 15, such as nickel, etc., and a cutter at its and slightly emerges from the electrodeposited metal layer 15 to form a grinding particle layer 16 in a single layer. The metal plate 12 is rolled around an outer circumference of a light grindstone base 11 made of aluminum, and is adhered with an adhesive agent 13 to form a cylinder grinding grindstone having a grinding particle layer at the circumference.
