Abstract:
To provide a cylindrical product having a flange formed of a single plate, and a forming method and an apparatus for the product.
A cylindrical work 13 is filled with liquid 17 therein, a lid closes its open end, and the work 13 is axially compressed. Hydraulic pressure generated in the liquid 17 by the compression coupled with an axial compressing force expands radially outwardly the axially middle portion of the work 13. While the expanded portion is pressed against a transcription die 44 disposed radially outwardly, the portion is axially sandwiched to form the flange 47.
