To provide a cylindrical roller bearing that secures insertion properties of cylindrical rollers into pockets of a cage, and smoothly discharge a lubrication agent, and can suppress an abnormal rise of a temperature and the pulsation of the temperature, and to provide a machine-tool spindle device using the cylindrical roller bearing.
The cylindrical roller bearing 1 comprises: an outer ring 2 formed with an outer ring raceway surface 2a; an inner ring 3 formed with an inner raceway surface 3a; a plurality of cylindrical rollers 4; and a cage 5 having a plurality of pockets 5c which have a pair of annular rims 5a and a plurality of columns 5b, and hold the cylindrical roller 4 so as to be turnable. The cage 5 has locking parts which are elastically deformed when the cylindrical rollers 4 are inserted into the pockets 5c and prevent the fall of the cylindrical rollers 4 at circumferential ends of the adjacent columns 5b which form outer diameter side openings of the pockets 5c. Furthermore, the cage 5 has guides 6 which protrude toward radial directions rather than external peripheral surfaces of the rims 5a at external peripheral surfaces of the columns 5b at least at three points and between the roller locking pars at both ends of circumferential directions of the columns 5b, and is guided in a raceway ring.
