PURPOSE: To prevent the leakage of magnetic flux, and to make it possible to obtain the title transformer of small size and multi-channel type by a method wherein a layer having low permeability is formed between each channel of the rotary transformer.
CONSTITUTION: A layer 6E, consisting of a low permeability material, is provided between each groove 6B formed on the core 6A of a rotary transformer 6 located on the rotating side. Said layer 6E is inserted as a very thin layer between each of a plurality of coils 6C formed on the core 6A of the transformer 6. When the transfer of a signal is conducted on the channel consisting of a pair of coils 6C and 7C of the rotary transformer 7 located on the fixed side, the magnetic flux directing to the coil of the adjacent channel from the side of the coil 6C, is shielded by the layer 6E, and the magnetic flux is prevented from going further to the side of the adjacent coil. As a result, the magnetic flux generated on each channel is prevented from leaking to the adjacent channel and becomes the cause of noise, and a small-sized and multi- channeled transformer can be obtained.
