This cylindrical secondary battery comprises a cylindrical secondary battery body 5 stored in a bottomed cylindrical metal container 7, the cylindrical secondary battery body 5 having a spiral pole plate group 2 with two output terminals 1a, 1b on the same end face, a resin bottomed cylindrical battery jar 103 for storing the spiral pole plate group 2, and a resin cover 104 for blocking an opening of the battery jar. The two output terminals are guided from two holes formed in the bottom of the battery jar to the outside of the battery jar. The secondary battery body 5 is stored in the metal container, with the cover 104 located at the side of the bottom of the metal container. The metal container is bent at its edge on the opening side toward the cylindrical secondary battery body.
