To provide a cylindrical shaft with good accuracy on shape and dimensions, to provide a carrying roller which allows cost and weight to be reduced and furthermore suppresses conveyance irregularity, and to provide a carrying unit and a printer device using this carrying roller.
The cylindrical shaft 16 is formed in a cylindrical shape by making a pair of ends face each other by press working, having a seam between the ends. The seam 80 includes a center straight line part 86, which is provided at the center part in the axial direction of the cylindrical shaft 16 and formed in a straight line approximately parallel to the axial direction of the cylindrical shaft 16, and bent parts 85, which have a plurality of crossing parts 85b, which are provided at both sides of the center part and extend in a direction crossing the axial direction of the cylindrical shaft 16, and a connecting straight line part 85a, which connects the ends of a pair of the crossing part 85b. The connecting straight line part 85a has a first straight line part 87b, which connects the ends at one side of the crossing part 85b, and a second straight line part 87c, which connects the ends at the other side of the crossing part and is shorter than the first straight line part 87b. A distance d6 between the ends of the center part is structured to be shorter than a distance d7 between a pair of ends of the second straight line part 87c.
