To provide a cylindrical supporter on which a pad has been sewn, so designed that the pad can be properly and also easily sewn on a cylindrical supporter body, and labor and cost necessary for making the supporter are reduced.

The subject method for making a cylindrical supporter comprises the following steps: forming a cylindrical supporter body 1 using a circular knitting machine, in this step, a first knitted part 3 and a second knitted part 4 are formed, while, only in forming the latter knitted part 4, elastic yarns 8 are used together with main knitting yarns 7; cutting the second knitted part 4 along the cylinder axis to spread the supporter body 1; sewing the pad 2 on the thus spread fabric 14 so that sewing operation can be done easily; and finally, sewing up cut edges 15 and 15 together so that the spread fabric 14 is restored into the cylindrical shape.
