Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new substance for use as e.g. a diagnostic for tumor development or advancement, occurring in the supernatant after culturing human lymphocytes, having each specific amino acid sequence and isoelectric point, promoting the plasminogen activator activity on the surface of oncocytes.
CONSTITUTION: This substance is a polypeptide or protein having the following characteristics: occurring in the supernatant after culturing human lymphocyte- based cell strain, having one of amino acid sequences expressed by respective formulas I to IV, and about 5.2 in isoelectric point. This substance is useful for development marker of tumor or diagnostic reagents to predict tumor development or advancement, or as a medicine or preventive for thrombophilia, because of its activity to promote the plasminogen activator activity on the surface of oncocytes while exhibiting no such promotive activity against normal fibroblasts. The substance is obtained by culturing a human lymphocyte-based cell strain such as human skin T cell-based lymphomatous cell strain HVT-78 in a medium in the absence of CO2 at 37°C followed by separating the product from the resultant supernatant.
