Abstract:

To provide a compositions comprising a liposome to treat cancer, disorders of an immune system and infectious diseases, and a method of preparing the same.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a liposome polyglutamated antifolate (LPA) composition, that comprises a liposome comprising polyglutamated antifolate encapsulated. The polyglutamated antifolate is a D-glutamyl polyglutamated antifolate comprising 4-6 D-glutamyl groups. The polyglutamated antifolate is a member selected from a group consisting of polyglutamated methotrexate (MTX), polyglutamated pemetrexed (PMX) and the like. The liposome is pegylated or not pegylated. The LPA composition does not comprise a targeting moiety having a specific affinity for a surface antigen on a target cell of interest.SELECTED DRAWING: None
