Abstract:
A direct-current circuit breaker. An arc extinguishing chamber (3) is mounted on a second housing (2) and is provided with a side opening (30) opposite to a first housing (1). A gas producing hood (4) is mounted in the lower part in the arc extinguishing chamber and comprises two opposite gas producing plates (41, 42) and a baffling plate (43). The baffling plate is opposite to the side opening and is close to the second housing. A moving contact (5) and a static contact (6) are mounted in a mounting space (10), and breaking positions of the moving contact and the static contact are located in an accommodating space (40) and are close to the baffling plate. When the moving contact and the static contact disconnect and generate electric arcs, the gas producing plates and the baffling plate are triggered by the electric arcs, and a large quantity of gas is generated to push the electric arcs to move in a direction away from the baffling plate. Lower openings (71) are formed in the sides of arc extinguishing grid sheets (7) mounted on the upper part in the arc extinguishing chamber, the sides facing to the accommodating space. The size of the lower openings is gradually decreased in the direction from the second housing to the first housing, and the electric arcs are continuously blocked by the arc extinguishing grid sheets having smaller lower openings in the moving process, so that the electric arcs cannot rush out of the side opening of the arc extinguishing chamber and can only enter the space among the arc extinguishing grid sheets and are extinguished as soon as possible. The direct-current circuit breaker can protect the first housing from being broken in the impact, and can improve the arc extinguishing effect by making full use of most of the arc extinguishing grid sheets.
