To provide a new compound useful as a constituent of an organic EL (electroluminescent) element, and to realize a practical organic EL element excellent in color purity, low in driving voltage and slight in leak current by using this compound.

There are provided a dibenzo[c,g]triphenylene derivative, and a material for an organic EL element, a light-emitting material for an organic EL element and a light-emitting organic solution comprising the derivative, and, besides, an organic EL element in which an organic compound layer(s) including at least a light-emitting layer is sandwiched between a pair of electrodes, wherein at least one layer of the organic compound layer(s) contains at least one kind of the dibenzo[c, g]triphenylene derivative. In addition, a device having the above organic EL element is provided.
