To provide a dampening water apparatus for a printing machine capable of adjusting partly an amount of water depending on a position in the width direction of a printed article, and thereby preventing a trouble such as a deterioration in quality of the printed article from being generated.
A dividing roller apparatus 11 for transferring water is arranged between a water source roller 6 on a water tank 5 side and a soaking roller 8 on a plate cylinder 1 side. The dividing roller apparatus 11 is equipped with a plurality of water transferring rollers 14 divided in the axial direction of both rollers 5 and 6. Respective water transferring rollers 14 are individually switchable to a water transferring position being brought into contact with both rollers 5 and 6 and a non-water-transferring position being separated from at least one of both rollers 5 and 6.
