PURPOSE: To improve the response characteristics of damper movement by effectively transferring heat to a shape memory alloy coil spring by disposing a heater comprising a cylindrical positive characteristic thermistor around the shape memory alloy coil spring of the damper operating device.
CONSTITUTION: A heater 11 comprising a cylindrical positive characteristics thermistor is disposed around a shape memory alloy coil spring 3 which serves as the power source for a damper plate 2 as a driven component of a damper operating device 1. Said heater 11 is activated and heated by means of the signal from a temperature sensor, and effectively transfer the heat generated inside its cylindrical part to the shape memory alloy coil spring 3. The shape memory alloy coil spring 3 expands due to the heat applied to it, and opens the damper plate 2. Since the heat of the heater can be effectively transferred to the shape memory alloy coil spring, the response characteristic of damper movement can be improved.
