To provide a damper for a railway rolling stock of which the construction is simple, excellent damping performance is obtained against vibration, and further maintenace facility is favorable.
One end of a cylinder 1 is blockaded with an end plate having a joint 12. A piston 2 received in the cylinder 1 is formed with a liquid passage 8 communicated to the left chamber and the right chamber of the cylinder on the outer circumferential face. The piston 2 is provided so as to move in the cylinder by a rod 3 extending on the opposite side to the end plate. To the other opening end of the cylinder 1, a damping plate 4 fitted to the rod 3 with a gap 10 is fitted. A joint 11 is provided on the outer end of the rod 3. The position nearby the joint 11 and the opening end of the cylinder 1 provided with the damping plate 4 are watertightly connected together through a bellows 5. The left chamber 35 and the right chamber 36 of the cylinder and the inside of the bellows 37 are filled with highly viscous liquid.
