An independent mass member 46 is housed for independent displacement in a nonbonded manner in a mass housing void 44 defined in a rigid butt contact housing 42 to constitute a damper mass 16. The damper mass 16 is elastically supported with spring members 14 comprising coil springs 22 to constitute a sub vibration system to a vibrating member 12. The independent mass member 44 directly and elastically butts the butt contact housing 42 in the direction of a vibration input to be damped.
