Title:
DAMPING ALLOY AND ITS MANUFACTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5794558
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a damping alloy with ≥2×10-3 damping capacity by adding a specified amount each of Ti and Cr to Fe.

CONSTITUTION: An alloy consisting of, by wt., 0.1W10% Ti, 0.1W45% Cr and the balance Fe is subjected to homogeneous soln. heat treatment by heating at 500°CW the m.p. for 1minW10hr. It is then hardened or annealed, cold worked, heated at ≥100°CW the hardening or annealing temp. for 1minW100hr, and slowly cooled at ≤1°C/sec cooling rate. To the alloy may be added 1 or ≥2 kinds of element selected from <10% Ni, Mn, Sb, Nb, V or Ta, <5% Sn, Zn, Zr, Cd, Gd, Ga, P, Au, Ag, Ge, Sm, Se, Ce, La, Bi, Pt, Pd, Be, Mg, Re, Rh or Y, <1% Pb, C, As or B, and <0.5% Eu or S as secondary components.
