Abstract:

To provide a damping alloy material combining the properties of a vibration damping coefficient of 20% or more and a tensile strength of 1G Pa or more, and to provide the damping alloy material as an automotive vibration absorbing material.

The damping alloy material is an Fe-Al-Ni alloy material comprising each of Al and Ni at concentrations in the range surrounded by points A, B, C, D and E in Fig.1 and excluding the line segments of AB, BC, CD, DE and EA, and the balance Fe. The respective concentrations of the Al and Ni are more preferably the ones in the range surrounded by points F, G, H, I and J in Fig.1, and are further more preferably the ones in the range surrounded by points K, L and M.
