Title:
DAMPING COMBUSTOR COWL STRUCTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05113218
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an improved combustor cowl for a gas turbine engine having excellent vibration attenuating characteristics, a long lifetime, a relatively simple constitution and a low manufacturing cost.

CONSTITUTION: A frictional damping combustor cowl is formed of annularly formed first ply 32 and second ply 38 brought into close contact with one another so that the plies 32 and 38 have cowl central axis and a shape of a slender and aerodynamic profile in an axial direction and have front end part 40 and a rear end part 42. The part 40 is bent to form a cowl front edge 44 of a circular arc section, the front end edge corresponding to the front end part is integrally formed, the part 42 forms a cowl rear edge 46, and integrally formed with a rear end edge corresponding to the part 42. A frictional attenuation of the vibration induced at the cowl in an ordinary operating state is conducted by a surface contact of the adjacent surfaces of the first ply 32 and the second ply 38 laminated and engaged with one another.
