To prevent a heddle frame from dropping and the damage to the heddle frame and warps caused by the dropping from occurring during no current flow of a driving motor in power failure, trouble of electric system, or the like.
An opening motion system 5 of each heddle frame 3 of an electric opening apparatus 1 is equipped with members 21 to be pressed under pressure in an overlapped state during the movement of the opening motion system 5. A pair of nipping members 22 are installed opposingly at a position in which the members to be pressed under pressure can be nipped. At least one of the pair of the nipping members 22 is furnished with a nipping member driving part 23 for driving the nipping members 22 in the direction of pressing under pressure. During no current flow of the driving motor 4, the nipping member driving part 23 is operated, the members 21 to be pressed under pressure are moved in the nipping direction by the pair of the nipping member 22 and the whole members 21 to be pressed under pressure are nipped between the pair of the nipping members so that the all heddle frames 3 are held and prevented from moving.
