Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure damping performance being by no means inferior to conventional devices while scaling down a required installation space by exerting ingenuity regarding the arrangement of a damping device.
SOLUTION: First and second buildings are disposed oppositely in upright at a regular interval. A second beam member 18 is protruded up to a section near to the external column 20 of the first building from the second building, and a first beam member 16 projected from the first building is protruded on the lower side of the second beam member 18 as a receiving beam. A rack gear 22 is installed to the underside of a lower-side flange 18b at the front end section of the second beam member 18 along the extending direction of the second beam member 18, and a pinion gear 24 engaged with the rack gear 22 is mounted on the top face of the upper-side flange 16b of the first beam member 16 through a bearing 26. A pair of viscous dampers 28 generating viscous resistance by rotation are set up on both sides of the shaft 24a of the pinion gear 24.
