Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping device capable of achieving compactness and light weight while effectively achieving damping effect to both horizontal vibration and vertical vibration.
SOLUTION: This damping device is provided with a case 20 having an inner space, a cylinder 31 of a cylindrical form having a bottom comprising nonmagnetic material, and disposed in the inner space of the case to be horizontally movable through hard balls 30, a magnet group comprising a plurality of magnets 32 embedded in circumferential wall parts 31a of the cylinder to form magnetic fields in the cylinder, a conductor 36 disposed in the cylinder to be axially movable, and a spring means 42 to constantly energize the conductor to position it to a prescribed position in the cylinder.
