Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a damping material developing a high damping property (loss factor η) within a plurality of temp. regions.

CONSTITUTION: The viscoelastic layer between restricting plates 1,1 or between the restricting plate 1 and a vibration element 4 is composed of an air bubble- containing self-adhesive layer 3. The bubble containing self-adhesive layer 3 changes from a glassy state to a rubbery state in the vicinity of the glass transition point (Tg) thereof to develop the primary peak of a loss factor and the secondary peak of the loss factor is developed within a temp. region exceeding Tg by the consumption of vibration energy due to the friction of an air bubble part and a polymer interface or that of the air bubble parts accompanied by expansion and contraction. By this constitution, peaks of the loss factor are present at two temps. and temp. dependence lowers.
