Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data analysis method and an information processor which enable shortening of data access time in decision tree generation.
SOLUTION: The data analysis method is for generating a decision tree by hierarchically grouping a plurality of analyzed objects each having a set of pieces of data on attributes while selecting one of the attributes; and at least one of the attributes is a numeric attribute having its value represented as a numeral, successive roughly estimated values of numeric attributes dividing a distribution of the values of the numeric attributes of the analyzed objects into sections having prescribed intervals is found from the distribution, and while the values of the numeric attributes of the analyzed objects are converted into the roughly estimated values close thereto, analyzed objects having the same value as all attributes including the values of the converted numeric attributes are regarded as one analyzed object to generate a plurality of new analyzed object, thereby generating the decision tree as to a plurality of new analyzed objects.
