PURPOSE: To acquire desired information and to pay the royalty of information while a customer is at home by providing a prescribed customer side information processor and a data base supply side information processor and interposing a superlarge computer between both the processors.

CONSTITUTION: The NTT (registered trade mark, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp.) 12 connects a customer 11 and an information supplier 13 through the superlarge computer by using a high-speed multiplex cable. When the customer 11 selects any desired information out of a menu sent from the information supplier 13 from the display means of a computer 112 and reports it to the information supplier 13, after an ID is confirmed, the information supplier 13 retrieves the requested information from a data base 133 and transmits it to the customer 11. At such a time, the requested service contents of the customer can be recognized, and the use of the copyright is confirmed. On the other hand, the NTT 12 performs charging corresponding to the kind and time of the service by using a charging device 123. Thus, the desired information can be acquired and the royalty can be paid while the customer is at home.
