Abstract:
The method involves encoding data using a low-density parity check (LPDC) matrix by an LDPC code encoder (1). The encoded data received from the encoder is precoded by a precoder (2) that uses a preset precoding function for detecting output levels of a partial response channel (3). The detected partial response channel output levels are directly input to an LDPC code decoder (4). Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a method of encoding and decoding data (B) an apparatus for encoding and decoding data.
