To provide a data conversion method and an apparatus remarkably reducing a packet loss while using a transmission system using existing data transmission control procedures.
An overhead bit for preventing confusion with an error control sequence 113 and a flag sequence is eliminated from a transmission bit row 110 based on predetermined data transmission procedures, a start bit row 122 and a stop bit row 123 are added, and the data are transmitted between modulating and demodulating apparatuses. After reception, the error control sequence 132 is calculated again and added, the overhead bit and the flag sequence are inserted to perform data conversion into the predetermined data transmission control procedures. In this way, a packet loss is remarkably reduced locally while using a transmission system conforming to the data transmission control procedures as a whole.
