Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an improved data converting device and image recording device capable of performing sub-scanning directional resolution conversion and horizontal-vertical conversion at the same time.
SOLUTION: Image data sent through a line are received and then stored in a specific area (a) of a RAM 103. After the resolution conversion for matching the line-directional resolution of the image with the sub-scanning directional resolution of a recording means, the data are stored in the specific area 8b) of the RAM 103. Then the image data are read out by specific length (8 pixels) at each time and while resolution conversion for matching the resolution with the sub-scanning directional resolution of the recording means is performed, the horizontal and vertical arrays of the image data are rearranged and stored in a specific area (c) of the RAM 103.
