CONSTITUTION: A signal conversion part 17 decodes data, which are read by a reading head HR, and at the sage time corrects the error of data by an error correction code when reading data from magnetic recording regions MR. When recording data into a magnetic recording medium digitally, error-corrected data are encoded and at the same time, an error correction code is added. Data, which are read by a read head HR while rolling a film FL in the direction of an arrow mA, are written at the same position as that where the data are recorded using a write head HW.
