Abstract:
PURPOSE: To execute an optimal inputting method without considering the increase or decrease of the number of master files.
CONSTITUTION: A master retrieving part 26A successively reads the list field and acquisition field of the entire records of a designated master file from an application in an inside memory, and counts the total number of the records. A selecting and inputting/display control part 26B displays the list field of the entire records at a CRT 20 when the count value is less than a boundary value, and allows a user to select one item within the list. And also, when the count value is more than the boundary value, the selecting and inputting/ display control part 26B waits the input of an abbreviation, receives the key input of the abbreviation searches the record in which the value of the list field of the records in a memory starts with the abbreviation, prepares the list of only the pertinent records, displays it at the CRT 20, and allows the user to select the records. Then, the value of the acquisition field of the selected records is returned to the application.
